This fluid extract formula is specifically designed for women and their particular needs. A woman might be facing a range of health concerns, especially around the menstrual cycle and the major hormonal changes of menopause. Issues regarding weight gain, bloating, dry skin, mood swings, food allergies, breast tenderness, hot flashes, sweet craving with increased glucose sensitivity, loss of bone density after menopause, and common PMS symptoms of cramps and irritation, even depression, can add to the everyday stresses of life. Stress can take its toll on women as they get older—when the adrenal glands are out of balance, a woman can experience the “tired and wired” feeling. The combination of coffee and sweets can make it worse. There is always in the background the concern of the hormonal balance between the interaction of progesterone and estrogen—an excess or lack of either one can lead to a number of the well-known problems mentioned above. Low levels of certain neurotransmitters can also involve depression.
This formula is an energy tonic that is not too warming. The intent is to quiet nervous stress and tension, regulate the menstrual cycle, improve circulation, curb menopausal weight gain, water retention, and mood swings, and keep the vaginal lining healthy while providing a balanced energy for the entire body.
Ingredients: Vitex (berries), Black Cohosh root, Bupleurum, Dong Quai, Motherwort, Wild Yam, Maca, Damiana, Red Clover flowers, Licorice, Mineral Co-Factors. Made in a base of organic cane alcohol and purified water to a proper extraction ratio.
Vitex (berries): Traditionally known as having broad tonic qualities for women, especially helping to balance hormone production (progesterone), counteract premenstrual syndrome, and regulate the menstrual cycle. It helps the pituitary gland produce the luteinizing hormone that normally triggers ovulation and prevents vaginal dryness. It also elevates mood, aids breast health, curbs hot flashes, and mitigates excessive weight gain (fluid retention).
Black Cohosh root: Traditionally used to treat uterine disorders, night sweats, and nervousness. It promotes healthy menstrual activity and improves blood circulation which can relieve cramps and menstrual pain. Its abundant mineral profile benefits bone health. It can also lower blood pressure.
Bupleurum: Has powerful natural anti-inflammatory and increases immune system activities. Helps to detoxify the liver, improve its health, and protect it from damage. Good for monthly menstrual maintenance, mood improvement, and reducing stress and anxiety as well as sugar cravings. It has also been used to support blood circulation and digestive health, and to stimulate the adrenal glands.
Dong Quai: Sometimes called the “female ginseng,” the root of the Dong Quai plant contains many active compounds including polysaccharides, organic acids, organic acid esters, and phthalides. Dong Quai has been used to relieve all gynecological complaints. Its relaxing properties help relieve menopause symptoms, muscle, and menstrual cramps. It helps regulate estrogen and progesterone and keeps them at healthy levels. Studies have indicated that Dong Quai can promote healthy blood circulation. It plays more of a supporting role in the formula.
Motherwort: Relaxes the nervous system, lowers blood pressure, and supports the heart, liver, and adrenal glands. Used for reducing hot flashes, mood swings, anxiety, menstrual cramps, and other menstrual difficulties.
Wild Yam: A fortifying herb that helps regulate hormone production and glandular balance, specifically the ratio of progesterone to estrogen. It contains hormone precursors for natural progesterone. Good for mitigating menstrual cramps.
Maca: A South American herb well-known for increasing energy, libido, and sexual potency (for both men and women), and for mood improvement. It can help relieve menopausal symptoms and stimulate hormonal activity—it balances estrogen to progesterone. It also promotes natural antioxidant activity in the body such as glutathione. It may help lower blood pressure and reduce depression. Maca has proven its efficacy in clinical trials in South America and Europe.
Damiana: Widely used in Mexico as an aphrodisiac increasing energy and restoring libido and for decreasing depression and relieving menstrual problems. Used in the formula as a supporting herb.
Red Clover flowers: Contains isoflavones which are plant-based compounds that mimic the action of the estrogen hormone. It can help relieve menopausal symptoms such as night sweats and hot flashes. It may be useful in preventing osteoporosis in post-menopausal women. A small amount is used in the formula as a support ingredient.
Licorice: Chinese formulas use licorice as a nutritive harmonizer; it sweetens and complements the other ingredients in Women’s Formula.
Formulated with concentrated mineral co-factors.
